[EN] I propose a Punic etymology for the toponym Carmona with parallels in the legends qrt?d‰t / m?n of Punic coinage in Sicily. Ákra Leuké/ Carmo, probable the first capital of the Barquide eparchie, would be maintained throughout the war as an important focus of the military government and administration of the Western Iberia. Carmo opens a mint since the beginning of the war and issued Hispano-Carthaginian coinage with copper coming from the mines of Rio Tinto as we know now by isotopic analysis. Peer reviewed
