Abstract

Dentro de la colección de plantas regaladas por el Museo de Historia Natural de Santiago de Chile a la Comisión Científica al Pacífico (1862-1866), figuran las de R. A. Philippi (1808-1904). En este trabajo se enumeran las especies descritas por este autor, representadas en el herbario MA, y se detallan los datos de las etiquetas originales y posteriores que acompañan al material. Se destaca el grado de coincidencia de los datos de recolección que aparecen en las etiquetas originales con los aparecidos en los protólogos de cada una de las especies. El material tipo de alguna de éstas fue recolectado por autores como Fonk, Germain, Krause, Landbeck o Pearce. Esta colección, que hasta ahora había pasado inadvertida entre los ejemplares del llamado Herbario Isem (MA), presenta un gran valor para la interpretación y tipificación de las especies de este botánico alemán afincado en Chile desde 1851.
