Bienestar, orientación temporal y estrategias de control en personas mayores: un estudio exploratorio

Abstract

Resumen: se analizó la relevancia de la orientación temporal y las estrategias de control en la predicción del bienestar subjetivo y psicológico. Los participantes (71 personas entre 50 y 79 años), alumnos de un centro de educación para personas adultas, cumplimentaron medidas de bienestar psicológico, bienestar subjetivo, orientación temporal y estrategias de control. Se encontraron relaciones positivas entre bienestar, control primario y control secundario por reevaluación positiva, así como entre bienestar y presente hedonista y futuro, siendo negativa la relación entre bienestar y pasado negativo. Los análisis de regresión jerárquica que indicaron que el bienestar subjetivo se asociaba negativamente con pasado negativo y positivamente con presente fatalista y control secundario por reevaluación positiva, mientras que el bienestar psicológico se asociaba negativamente con pasado negativo y control secundario por bajas aspiraciones y positivamente con presente hedonista.
