The Ciência 2021 Conference aims to promote scientific discussion from a wide variety of scientific areas and perspectives, including astronomy and space sciences. The thematic session – A High-Level Dialogue on the SKAO - is dedicated to generating a high-level dialogue where we take a closer look at the Square Kilometer Array Observatory (SKAO), a newly born intergovernmental organization with the ambition to bring together a wealth of the world’s finest scientists, engineers, and policymakers to build the world’s largest radio telescope. To elaborate on the contribution of the SKAO to our understanding of the Universe and the interplay between science, industry, and diplomacy and the catalytic role of the SKAO in bringing those dimensions together, we invite representatives of the SKAO and its governing bodies, the scientific community, government officials of member countries, and key players in the innovation business.
