Descubriendo el patrimonio geomorfológico en la ciudad (Río Miño, Ourense, noroeste de la Península Ibérica)

Abstract

Formas menores generadas por los procesos de erosión fluvial abundan en el cauce rocoso del río Miño a su paso por la ciudad de Ourense (Galicia), en el entorno de su conocida área termal. El inventario de 221 formas singulares precedió su análisis morfométrico y su evaluación como elementos que favorecen el conocimiento de los procesos ambientales actuales. El desconocimiento, la invisibilidad y el bajo grado de percepción social de estos bienes comunes llevó a la realización del proyecto “Estado del patrimonio geomorfológico en el entorno termal de la ciudad de Ourense” (INOU 2015-02). En este proyecto se promovieron acciones de conocimiento y divulgación de este patrimonio natural, un recurso esencial del territorio
