Abstract

Cuando llegamos a los primeros años del siglo XVIII y atendemos al actor, a su forma de representar, a su modo de vivir, a sus problemas y a su consideración social, confirmamos que casi nada ha cambiado respecto al siglo precedente. Se siguen configurando las compañías en Cuaresma, sigue habiendo cómicos de la legua (aunque la intención a lo largo del siglo sea acabar con ellos), los actores continúan representando del mismo modo, los locales tienen las mismas características, la disposición del público en los corrales es la misma que en el siglo XVII, su actitud es semejante, etc., etcétera. Sin embargo, hay ciertas cosas que van cambiando. Por ejemplo, esas compañías de la legua están formadas por un número considerable de cómicos, de forma que aquellas formaciones mínimas de que nos hablan Cervantes, Rojas Villandrando y otros autores -el bululú, el ñaque, la gangarilla, el cambaleo, la garnacha, la bojiganga y la farándula- han desaparecido. La subsistencia del actor en un grupo reducido era dificil si consideramos la competencia de compañías standar que podían ofrecer una división más en regla.
