Guía de empleo del caucho reciclado procedente del neumático

Abstract

En este trabajo se detalla el contenido y alcance de una guía para la aplicación del caucho reciclado procedente de neumáticos al final de su vida útil (NFVU). Para ello, se empleó caucho de NFVU para la elaboración de compuestos de caucho sinterizado, además de la incorporación y formulación de polvo de caucho como nuevo ingrediente en matrices elastoméricas vírgenes. Se realizaron estudios sobre el efecto del contenido y tamaño de partícula de polvo de caucho de NFVU y su influencia sobre el proceso de vulcanización, propiedades mecánicas, envejecimiento y degradación de los compuestos de caucho en los que se empleó. Los resultados presentados en esta guía serán de gran utilidad para los especialistas de la industria del caucho, dando así una solución a un problema ambiental, además de afianzar al caucho de NFVU como una materia prima secundaria de valor añadido, lo cual permitirá su uso en la fabricación de piezas de caucho de alto valor tecnológico contribuyendo a la economía circular y la sostenibilidad de este sector esencial.
