Al-Tignari (s. XI-XII) es uno de los representantes más destacados de la escuela agronómica andalusí. Su tratado, titulado Kitab Zuhrat al-bustan wa-nuzhat al-adhan,sigue un método dualista en el que la teoría racional va acompañada de la prácticavivida y experimentada. Por ello, no se limita a ofrecer una larga lista de fuentes, en un alarde de erudición, sino que la mayoría de las que cita son casi siempre identificables.En el estudio llevado a cabo en este trabajo se aprecia que la tradición greco-bizantina alcanza el mayor porcentaje de tales fuentes, seguida a distancia por la árabe, representada por al-Filaha al-Nabatiyya (Agricultura Nabatea).
