En este artículo analizaré el impacto que han provocado en la España contemporánea la producción, circulación y consumo de relatos e imágenes del terror y el sufrimiento padecidos durante la Guerra Civil, y en particular de aquellos relatos e imágenes derivados de la exhumación de las fosas comunes de la represión franquista. La puesta en común de tales relatos debe ser considerada en el contexto más amplio de los debates en torno a la Guerra Civil en cuanto pasado traumático, un proceso que no ha estado exento de polémica.
