[EN] The administrative texts from Ugarit still pose important problems of interpretation. The present article deals with several of these problems: the absolute and relative chronology of this documentation as a whole, the ways in which administrative documentation has been lost, an attempt to quantify this loss of documents so that, finally, the quantity of administrative documentation available now can be reassessed in historical terms. We would like to suggest that the vast majority of the administrative texts preserved could belong to the final phase of the life of kingdom, possibly even up to its last one or two years. The closing paragraph will briefly bring together the conclu sions.
