Abstract

[EN] Sedimentological and physical parameters were analysed for eighteen cores recovered from the Sacratif and Calahonda turbidite systems. Six sedimentary facies were determinate: canyon, intercanyon, channel, levee, channelized lobe and sheet. Attention was paid to the spatial distribution of some of textural (grain size and sorting), compositional (carbonate content and sand fraction) and physical (magnetic susceptibility) parameters of the facies through the turbidite systems. The recent sedimentary evolution of Sacratif Turbidite System has been governed by spillover and gravity processes (turbidite), whereas in the Calahonda Turbidite System has occurred gravity processes (turbidite and debris-flows) in a first phase of deposition, andhemipelagic and low-density gravity flows in a second phase. The occurrence of these processes suggest that the Sacratif Turbidite System is presently active whereas in the Calahonda Turbidite System the sedimentary activity has decreased with time
