Abstract

Cortistatina o un análogo de la misma como agente farmacéuticamente activo en forma latente. La semivida en sangre de péptidos endógenos tales como somatostatina y cortistatina es extremadamente corta, llegando apenas a pocos minutos (Skamene et al., Clin Endocrinol 1984, 20, 555-564). Por tanto, existe la necesidad de encontrar nuevos sistemas o composiciones que comprendan cortistatina o un análogo de la misma para el tratamiento de esas patologías en las que se expresan receptores de cortistatina específicos y aquellos receptores compartidos con otras moléculas tales como somatostatina (sstr1, sstr2, sstr3, sstr4 y/o sstr5) y/o ghrelina (GHSR), siendo además más estables en sangre que la cortistatina. La presente invención proporciona medios mejorados para proporcionar cortistatina o un análogo de la misma como agente farmacéuticamente activo en forma latente, más estable en sangre que la cortistatina, que libera cortistatina en un modo de liberación controlada.
