Abstract

[EN]: The intention of this paper is to assess the importance in the mining region Burguillos del Cerro, for which we shall rely on data of various kinds. Despite the lack of knowledge of the importance of iron mining in the Southwest of Extremadura during the early history has been considered by some authors the main cause of migration of Celtici. It was also rated the region as an important mining center in Roman times, although only documented a mine in the vicinity of the study area. The only data that allow us to assert exploitation of this mineral in the area date back to the nineteenth century.
