Evaluación del patrón alimentario de población adulta sana con distintos hábitos de consumo de bebidas alcohólicas

Abstract

[Método]: 152 adultos sanos (51,3% M) se dividieron en 3 grupos según el patrón de consumo de alcohol registrado en un cuestionario específico en entrevista con nutricionista: 1) Consumo nulo/ocasional (ABSTEMIOS) (n=64; <1,5g alcohol/día); 2) Consumo procedente de cerveza (CERVEZA) (n=41; ≥70% del alcohol total); y 3) Consumo de bebidas variadas (MEZCLA) (n=47; ≥7g alcohol/día [mujeres], ≥10g alcohol/día [hombres], <70% del alcohol procedente de cerveza). Completaron un cuestionario de frecuencia de consumo de alimentos y se comparó el consumo de los distintos grupos de alimentos (g/día), y las respuestas a 14 preguntas referentes a elecciones saludables (fibra, fruta, verdura, pescado, mantequilla, grasa, carne, sal, azúcar, dulces, etc.).

[Resultados]: No hubo diferencias en edad, sexo, o IMC entre grupos. Tampoco se encontraron diferencias en los hábitos considerados saludables ni en el consumo de los diferentes grupos de alimentos, salvo dos excepciones: 1) menor porcentaje de sujetos que limitan el consumo de sal en las comidas en el grupo CERVEZA en comparación con los otros grupos (P=0,055) y 2) menor consumo de embutidos en ABSTEMIOS que en los grupos CERVEZA y MEZCLA (P=0,003).

[Conclusiones]: El consumo de alcohol moderado no parece relacionarse en general con un patrón dietético menos saludable. Sin embargo, las observaciones encontradas en cuanto al consumo de embutidos sugieren un análisis más profundo del perfil de macronutrientes de la dieta.

[Introducción]: El hábito de consumir bebidas alcohólicas con moderación podría repercutir en el consumo de otros grupos de alimentos y en los hábitos de alimentación en general. Sin embargo, las evidencias son escasas al respecto.

[Objetivos]: Estudiar las diferencias en el consumo de grupos de alimentos y la frecuencia autoinformada de hábitos dietéticos saludables en sujetos con distinto patrón de consumo de bebidas alcohólicas.
