Adsorción de ciprofloxacina en materiales zeolíticos

Abstract

evaluó su capacidad de adsorción frente al fármaco modelo ciprofloxacina. Se empleó a modo de comparación una clinoptilolita natural cubana. La síntesis se realizó por vía hidrotermal usando cenizas de cáscara de arroz como fuente de silicio y un surfactante como plantilla para la generación de mesoporos. Los resultados mostraron que el método de síntesis permite obtener una zeolita A jerarquizada con alta pureza y cristalinidad, un tamaño de partícula de 500 nm y un diámetro de poro medio de 33 nm. La zeolita sintetizada mostró una capacidad de adsorción de ciprofloxacina (383 mg/g) muy superior a la de la zeolita natural (73 mg/g), y superior además, a la de otros adsorbentes reportados en la literatura. Estos resultados son prometedores para el empleo del material desarrollado en la remoción de fármacos en aguas residuales.
