Vocabulario de la infancia y vocabulario religioso en griego antiguo

Abstract

En el estudio del vocabulario de cualquier lengua pueden diferenciarse distintos campos léxicos en los que se agrupan las palabras relacionadas con un ámbito cultural específico, de modo que el estudio de ese vocabulario nos permitirá conocer y analizar el fenómeno cultural a que está referido. Así, hablamos de léxico militar, léxico agrícola, de la caza, médico, administrativo, etc. Podemos hablar también de un léxico de la religión y de un léxico de la infancia, que son los dos ámbitos socio-culturales que se ponen en conexión en este volumen. Si además prestamos atención a la intersección entre ellos, encontraremos un léxico específico en el que confluirán palabras que se han especializado en una referencia conceptual simultánea a ambas esferas.

Por motivos de espacio sólo puedo dar aquí unas breves ideas de carácter general sobre este léxico. Me limitaré a mencionar algunas dificultades que se plantean al trabajar con él en el caso del griego antiguo, así como a examinar algunos motivos por los que su análisis ha servido para desarrollar y estructurar los estudios que conectaban ambas esferas de la sociedad y la cultura en la antigua Grecia.
