Abstract

The 'Aljama' of Tortosa, was one of the leading muslim urban suburbs of Catalonia together with the one of Lleida.The article deals with its governance and organisation, taxes's imposition as well as the conflict due to the sharing of the butcher shops between Muslims and Jews.
