Análisis rápido de enmiendas orgánicas usando fluorescencia de rayos X (XRF) (Comuniación Congreso)

Abstract

La determinación del contenido elemental en enmiendas orgánicas generalmente implica la digestión de la muestra con agua regia, y la determinación de la concentración en solución usando varias técnicas posibles. La Fluorescencia de Rayos X evita la etapa de digestión pues se aplica a muestras sólidas, y en su versión portátil (PXRF) puede ser usada ¿in situ¿ presentando ventajas en relación con las técnicas tradicionales. Sin embargo, PXRF determina el contenido elemental total y, así su uso para el análisis de enmiendas orgánicas es limitado. El objetivo de este trabajo es la calibración de un instrumento PXRF para determinar el contenido elemental soluble en agua regiade muestras sólidas de enmiendas orgánicas como composts, estiércoles, biofertilizantes y lodos. Usando un conjunto de muestras de referencia, se obtuvieron funciones de calibración que permiten esta determinación desde las lecturas de contenido total tomadas con PXRF. Las funciones de calibración de regresión lineal múltiple permitieron la determinación cuantitativa de los contenidos en agua regia de Fe, K, P, S, Zn, Cu, Pb, Sr, Cr y Mn, Hg y Cd así como del contenido de materia orgánica, y una evaluación semicuantitativa de otros metales. Las lecturas de Si, Fe, Al, Ca, K o S intervinieron en los factores de corrección, indicando que las funciones encontradas se basan en la composición química de las muestras. Este estudio permitirá un análisis de campo rápido, económico y fiable de enmiendas orgánicas y de otros materiales a base de biomasa.
