Abstract

El pulpo común, Octopus vulgaris, es una especie de gran interés comercial en España y un excelente candidato para la diversificación de la acuicultura. En los últimos años se han logrado grandes avances para la consecución de su ciclo de vida en condiciones de cultivo, lo que hace que la búsqueda de biomarcadores que permitan optimizar dicho cultivo sea una prioridad. El proyecto OCTOMICs pretende profundizar en el estudio del desarrollo del pulpo común en condiciones de cultivo mediante análisis nutrigenómicos y epigenéticos. Para ello se analiza tanto el desarrollo embrionario, a través de puestas mantenidas en distintas condiciones de incubación, como paralarvas en sus estadios tempranos de desarrollo, cultivadas bajo distintas condiciones y alimentadas con diferentes dietas. El análisis de un amplio rango de genes y proteínas identificados mediante herramientas “ómicas”, implicados en diferentes cascadas de señalización relacionadas con el metabolismo, el estrés y la respuesta inmune permitirá el desarrollo de un PCR array específico. La selección de dichos genes y proteínas, junto con los ensayos de validación bioquímicos funcionales, permitirá la selección de candidatos a biomarcadores para evaluar las respuestas metabólicas e inmunes en etapas tempranas de desarrollo de O. vulgaris en condiciones de cultivo
