[EN] Schizosaccharomyces pombe is a fission yeast considered by its characteristics to be a model eukaryotic organism. Its cells are surrounded by a fungal cell wall, the role of which is essential for the maintenance of cell morphology. Due to its absence in animal cells, the cell wall is a target element of antifungal therapies. For this reason, this work has studied and compared how three antifungals of the echinocandin family applied in different concentrations affect the growth and division dynamics in a wild strain and a mutant strain of S. pombe. The results obtained show that in general, the effects produced by low concentrations of antifungals in the wild strain are suppressed in the mutant strain. However, high concentrations of antifungals affect in a very similar way to the two S. pombe strains studied. Furthermore, differences in the mode of action are observed between the three antifungals studied, since they induce the appearance of differentiated phenotypes in S. pombe cells.
