Abstract

[EN]: This paper presents a global archaeological analysis of the residential architecture of urban areas inthe Roman province of Lusitania. Some aspects of the transformations affecting (late) Roman domus, in particular spatiality, building features and the most widespread models will be examined. At the same time, the new living spaces that arose in Late Antiquity will be addressed in response tothe changes produced in urban societies. It is expected to understand construction and urbandynamics that will be analysed from the fourth up to the seventh century into the social implicationsthat may reflect, and in connection with the presence of a diverse and changing local elites, especially in the provincial capital and metropolitan Episcopal See of Emerita Augusta.
