[ES] Es evidente la importancia que tienen las traducciones en la constitución de una rigurosa historia y crítica de la literatura. Con ocasión de un ejemplo concreto, la traducción del prólogo de la Retórica latina de Elio Antonio de Nebrija (1515), se explica y especifica aquí, con casos de versiones de la Biblia latina, la necesidad que entraña toda traducción de una depurada hermenéutica que tenga en cuenta la situación global del texto y el sentido que se deriva de la interacción entre los elementos del proceso comunicativo del que procede, o sea, la «intentio auctoris», la «intentio lectoris» y la «intentio operis». Se acepta que, a pesar de las múltiples interrogantes que cada instancia plantea a la interpretación unívoca, es posible encontrar un sentido básico acertado y descartar interpretaciones aberrantes: las sospechas que se acumulan no anulan la intuición de que el ser humano se puede comunicar.

[EN] The importance of translation is evident in the creation of a accurate history and critique of literature. Departing from the specific text of my translation of Prologus of the Latin Rhetoric (1515) by Elio Antonio de Nebrija, it can be explained, through versions of the latin Bible, the need for any translation of a sophisticated hermeneutics that takes into account the overall situation of the text and the meaning that derives from the interaction between elements of the communication process it comes from: the «intentio auctoris» the «intentio lectoris» and the «intentio operis». It is accepted that, despite the many questions that each instance presents to the univocal interpretation, it is possible to find an acceptable basic meaning and discard aberrant interpretations: the accumulated suspicions do not override the intuition that humans can communicate.
