Abstract

[EN] On the basis of the data registered in a book of habices dating back to 1530, which means almost four decades before the uprising of 1568, the present paper aims at analysing the status of Morisco women in the area of Alpujarra and, in particular, in the tahas of Ugíjar and Andarax. More specifically, it sheds light on different aspects of the economic and social condition of these women. By means of this same information, indeed, it is possible to investigate the role of women within the Moorish community and, in this regard, the paper will focus on the question of property regime from the point of view of the transfer and transmission of goods in the form of legacies.
