Cuando nos ocupamos de la lexicografía general, las referencias que empleamos acaban convirtiéndose en lugares comunes de nuestro pasado diccionarístico. Cuando, por el contrario, hablamos de lexicografía de especialidad los protocolos cambian radicalmente: el número de obras publicadas es tan ingente como inabarcable, tanto es así que, historiográficamente, la presentación de los diccionarios objeto de estudio se tornas un punto de referencia inexcusable.
