Riesgos para la cadena trófica en el Corredor Verde del Guadiamar

Abstract

Una de las principales amenazas que implica la presencia de elementos traza en el suelo es su posible transferencia a la cadena trófica. La mayoría de los elementos traza que son esenciales para las plantas lo son también para los humanos. Sin embargo, los contenidos de estos elementos en concentraciones elevadas pueden ser perjudiciales para animales y humanos, aunque no sean tóxicos para las plantas. En este capítulo se presentan distintos estudios llevado a cabo en el Corredor Verde del Guadiamar, donde se ha analizado la transferencia de elementos traza a distintos niveles dentro de la cadena trófica, y se ha evaluado el correspondiente riesgo potencial para animales y humanos. En particular, se describen con más detalle tres estudios de casos relevantes: el posible efecto tóxico sobre los caballos que pastan en el Corredor Verde, y la acumulación de elementos traza tanto en caracoles como en setas, dos tipos de alimentos silvestres que podrían recolectarse en el Corredor Verde por los vecinos de la zona para su consumo.

Capítulo de libro en el que se revisan los estudios relacionados con la transferencia de elementos traza desde los suelos contaminados a la cadena trófica, realizados en el Corredor Verde del Guadiamar. Está basado en la ponencia presentada en la Jornada de Investigación del XX Aniversario del Accidente Minero de Aznalcóllar, que tuvo lugar en el IRNAS, Sevilla, el 26 abril 2018.
