[ES] Jaume Piera es Ingeniero en Telecomunicaciones, licenciado en Biología y Doctor en Ciencias Ambientales. Después de pasar unos años como profesor lector en la Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, se incorporó en el Instituto de Ciencias del Mar, donde investiga y diseña nuevos sistemas de observación del medio marino. En los últimos años gran parte de esta actividad investigadora se ha centrado en tecnologías para desarrollar proyectos de ciencia ciudadana, vinculándose al desarrollo de la plataforma Natusfera, en colaboración con otros centros y entidades (Real Jardín Botánico de Madrid, GBIF España, CREAF y la empresa Bineo). Participa activamente en dos asociaciones de ciencia ciudadana como miembro del comité directivo: la European Citizen Science Association (ECSA) y la Red Iberoamericana de Ciencia Participativa (RICAP)
[EN] Jaume Piera is a Telecommunications Engineer, with a degree in Biology and a PhD in Environmental Sciences. After spending a few years as a lecturer at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, he joined the Institute of Marine Sciences, where he researches and designs new systems for observing the marine environment. In recent years much of this research activity has focused on technologies to develop citizen science projects, linked to the development of the Natusfera platform, in collaboration with other centers and entities (Royal Botanical Garden of Madrid, GBIF Spain, CREAF and the Bineo company). He participates in two citizen science associations as a member of the steering committee: the European Citizen Science Association (ECSA) and the Iberoamerican Network of Participatory Science (RICAP)
