Espectroscopias y microscopias láser al servicio del patrimonio cultural

Abstract

Las espectroscopias láser, incluyendo Raman, fluorescencia inducida por láser (LIF) y espectroscopía de ruptura inducida por láser (LIBS) se utilizan desde hace décadas para el análisis de materiales y sustratos de interés artístico o patrimonial. Raman y LIBS proporcionan información complementaria sobre la composición molecular y elemental, respectivamente, mientras que LIF aporta datos adicionales relacionados con la presencia de sustancias emisoras de fluorescencia. De más reciente introducción en el estudio del patrimonio cultural es la microscopía óptica no-lineal (NLOM), que en sus modalidades de fluorescencia de excitación multifotónica (MPEF) y de generación de segundo o tercer armónico (SHG, THG), sirven para la caracterización, tri-dimensional sin toma de muestra y precisión micrométrica, de la naturaleza química, estructura y espesor de substratos multicapa y multicomponente. En este trabajo se ilustran avances recientes en la integración de las tres espectroscopias láser mencionadas y de las distintas modalidades de NLOM en sistemas híbridos y sobre su uso en la caracterización morfológica y química de substratos pétreos y pictóricos.
