Determinación de la estereoquímica de C-14 en 8,13- y 8,13 epi-epoxi-14,15-dihidroxy-labdanos empleando espectroscopia de RMN de protón (*)

Abstract

An examination of the proton magnetic resonance spectra of three pairs of 13,14-erythro and threo isomers of 8,13 epi-epoxy-14(R or S),15-dihydroxy (or 15-desoxy)-labdanes, shows that the signals of the C-14 proton and C-16 methyl protons of the erythro isomer always appear at lower field than the threo isomer. Based on the above examples , this method of assignment of configuration at C-13 and C-14 appears to be sufficiently general to be considered whenever the C-13 ether-C-14 alcohol system is present.
