La guía del buen gobierno del municipio de Málaga de Diego de Rivas Pacheco (siglo XVII)

Abstract

A mediados del siglo XVII el regidor malagueño Diego de Rivas Pacheco recoge en un volumen manuscrito toda la normativa legislada hasta el momento para el buen gobierno del municipio. A pesar de aprobarse su publicación, la temprana muerte del autor y la desidia de los regidores contribuyeron a que esta obra permaneciera en el mismo estado, sin llegar a ver la imprenta. No obstante fueron constantes las consultas llevadas a cabo al llamado Libro del Ceremonial . En el siglo XIX se perdió la pista de este interesante ejemplar, que ahora el ayuntamiento de Málaga se propone volver a reeditar en edición facsímil. El manuscrito se encuentra dividido en dos partes. En la primera se encuentra la normativa sobre funcionamiento del Cabildo Municipal, medidas ante catástrofes naturales y epidemias; mientras que en la segunda se describen las ceremonias en las que debe participar el ayuntamiento, tanto religiosas como profanas.
