[EN] A policy for genetic resources requires the correct identification of accessions preserved in the Germplasm Banks. In grapevines, estimation of the actual numbers of varieties available becomes difficult because of the existence of numerous denominations corresponding to synonymies and homonymies. Characterization by means of molecular markers (RAPDs and microsatellite) of thirty fine vine accessions corresponding to thinly scattered varieties existing in the Germplasm Banks of Logroño (La Rioja) and to varieties of other origins postulated as synonymies of the former varieties (El Encín, Madrid), constitute the principal objective of this paper. The high discriminating power of the RAPDs markers and the microsatellite markers allowed a differentiability of ah the varieties tested. A general concordance was obtained in the polymorphism with two types of markers although the RAPDs markers also detected intravarietal variability in three varieties. S everal synonymies were established in ah the varieties studied. Homonymies were confirmed in the Miguel de Arco, Monastel, Monastreli, Torrontés and Turruntés varieties.
