Abstract

La gestión del turismo cultural contempla el derecho de la sociedad para acceder al conocimiento y a la cultura, incidiendo en la necesidad de su adecuada comunicación para el mejor entendimiento y conservación del patrimonio cultural. Teniendo en cuenta el carácter multidisciplinar e integrador del patrimonio cultural y las iniciativas de divulgación científica a la ciudadanía promovidas a nivel institucional, se plantea considerar en el turismo cultural el conocimiento de los materiales que conforman el patrimonio arquitectónico, generado mediante estudios multidisciplinares y desde una perspectiva científica. Estos materiales presentan un importantísimo valor patrimonial, pues son imagen del patrimonio que configuran y de su recuerdo en nuestra memoria. En este sentido, las cerámicas vidriadas de la Antigua Estación de Metro de Chamberí, Madrid (1919) representan un recurso patrimonial excepcional, pues su estudio permite atender conjuntamente a la información proporcionada por las fuentes documentales, a la experiencia adquirida por ceramistas y a los datos obtenidos mediante el empleo de técnicas analíticas de caracterización. Es indudable el atractivo turístico que presenta la visita de los lugares del pasado, más si cabe cuando el espacio se conserva como era originariamente y mantiene la función para la que fue creado, quedando el visitante completamente acogido por el ambiente de antaño. La visita a la Antigua Estación del Metropolitano de Madrid resulta amable para el visitante y respetuosa con el lugar, ofreciendo al mismo tiempo un turismo cultural que se integra con la identidad local de su entorno.
