Análisis del regadío IV: ¿qué efectos tendrá la modernización de Riegos del Alto Aragón?

Abstract

Hay mayores rendimientos y mayor intensificación del patrón de cultivos en las comunidades que cuentan con sistemas de riego por aspersión. Proporciona unos mayores beneficios y una mayor protección frente a las restricciones de agua provocadas en épocas de sequía. Esta mayor productividad supone a su vez un mayor consumo de agua. Este mayor consumo implicará una menor disponibilidad del agua en la cuenca del Ebro. Los volúmenes de retornos de riego en las zonas con sistemas de aspersión son notablemente inferiores. Supone a su vez un menor exportación en la masa de contaminantes. La inversión en la modernización del regadío es necesaria, pero no será suficiente para asegurar la sostenibilidad económica de las explotaciones. La modernización del regadío en RAA será beneficiosa para las explotaciones y la sociedad en su conjunto.
