La bacoreta, el bonito y la melva, de las almadrabas españolas

Esta exposición no es en realidad más que un resumen y proyección divulgatoria de un trabajo más extenso publicado por el autor en una revista científica (INVESTIGACION PESQUERA*), al objeto de que el público en general y no especializado conozca algo de la producción y biología de estas tres especies, de alto valor económico y que se pescan en cantidad en las costas españolas. El estudio biológico se hizo con ejemplares capturados en las almadrabas denominadas «Ensenada de Barbate»,«Lances de Tarifa» y «La Atunara». […] Los nombres científicos de las tres especies citadas son: Bacoreta (o "Sarda", en las almadrabas) = Euthynnus alleteratus (Rafinesque). Bonito = Sarda sarda Bloch). Melva = Auxis thazard (Lacépède). [...]
