Abstract

Se analizan varios testimonios de sefardíes de la primera mitad del siglo XX para mostrar que, aunque el teatro español por lo general no fue representado en su lengua original por los sefardíes de Oriente, algunos miembros de las élites sefardíes de los Balcanes, de Macedonia y de Viena fueron lectores y traductores de teatro español contemporáneo y asistieron a representaciones de compañías españolas en gira por el Mediterráneo Oriental
