Abstract

La transformación de la temporalidad que la mediación electrónica incluye en la percepción de un hecho dramático, como el de los atentados del 11-M en Madrid, altera significativamente el proceso de surgimiento de los modelos identitarios. Aunque insertas en procesos de desmaterialización de lo territorial, las identidades culturales - imaginadas, inventadas, abstractas, etc.- se relacionan con las vivencias espaciotemporales que permiten concebir determinados lugares y paisajes cercanos como espacios dotados de un tiempo vivido. Sin embargo, el conocimiento que tenemos de aquellos lugares y sucesos gracias a la inmediatez televisiva o de internet no incluye una experiencia vivencial del tiempo: surgen de repente, puntualmente. Es decir, frente a la historicidad inherente al paisaje del lugar próximo, la percepción del exótico alejado es siempre instantánea.

Se trata de un texto presentado y discutido en los "Nuevos Talleres Internacionales de Estudios Regionales y Locales" desarrollados en La Habana (Cuba) para discutir "Las regiones en Latinoamérica".
