[EN] Out of a total of 2.755 animals belonging to 8 spanish sheep breeds, with 15 ecotypes, the distribution of the biochemical polymorphism, Ke is studied and typified. To begin with the distribution of the values of Ke in the material used, is studied and discussed to set the limit between the LK and HK types, which is established at a level of 50 mEq/1. Later, different correlations between the Ke and other blood parameters used in the calculations are analized just as the contents in Ke the studied sheep breeds, among the types LK and HK arriving at the conclusion that the content in KE is not valid in order to genetically characterize the breeds, nor their distribution. The relationships between the contens of Ke in LK sheep are analized, and the sex, type of hemoglobin and other environmental and production factors and the genic frequencies for Kh are detailed in the studied sheep breeds: Manchega, Castellana, Lacha and Ojalada, Kh=0,00; Talaverana, 0,14; Rasa Aragonesa, 0,07; Churra, 0,07 and Merino, 0,10. Finally, the so low frequencies for Kh are discussed and the ones of the spanish merino are compared with the rest of the merino breeds distributed throughout the world and of which there exit references.
