Relieves romanos de Mengíbar (Jaén)

Abstract

[ES] Se estudian en este trabajo unos originales relieves aparecidos en Iliturgi Forum Iulium, actual Mengíbar (prov. de Jaén), que ofrecen motivos iconográficos poco conocidos en el mundo romano. El autor realiza además un análisis temático y formal con numerosos paralelismos, ofreciendo una interpretación sobre el posible significado de los elementos ornamentales y cultuales que aparecen en los relieves. Se concluye el trabajo con algunas reflexiones sobre el estilo y la integración de los mismos en determinados monumentos funerarios.
