Dosificación de antibióticos en pacientes obesos

Abstract

Los pacientes obesos (IMC > 30 kg/m2) son una población claramente en aumento en nuestro entorno. Estos pacientes en comparación con pacientes no obesos, tienen un mayor riesgo de morbilidad crónica y aguda y, además, una mayor susceptibilidad a adquirir infecciones comunitarias y nosocomiales. Tanto es así que, en las unidades de cuidados intensivos, esta característica lleva asociada importantes trastornos metabólicos, un mayor número de días de ventilación mecánica y un peor pronóstico en cuanto a su evolución en comparación con pacientes no obesos.
