[EN] Variation in electrical conductivity (EC), hydraulic conductivity (K) and pH during the leaching process -with deionized water-, of two soils of the middle Ebro valley (Spain), were studied in the laboratory. The gypsum content of these soils (1,3 and 2,1%, respectively) was responsible for the maintenance of a soil flocculated state such that the salts remaining in the soil after the leaching process were adequate for most plants. The number of pore volume displacements needed to achieve and EC of 2 mmho/cm. in the percolation waters (being the initial EC=18 mmho/cm.) was 4,5 and 7,5 (or 2,6 and 4,1 cm. water/cm. soil), respectively.
