Citogenética ganadera. (I. Ovis aries)

Abstract

[EN] After a general reviewing of the karyotype in "ovis aries", and working with 20 animals (10 males and 10 females) belonging to "Rasa Aragonesa" spanish sheep breed, we study that subject from 400 methaphase chromosomes. We confirm the chromosome number showed by other authors, because we have observed 2n=54 as well. Chromosome analysis permits to divide the autosome chromosomes in 3 bibrachial pairs and 23 monobrachial pairs. We identify the sexual chromosomes XY as monobrachial chromosomes with ending centromere. Finally we include karyotype of a male and a female and some isolated chromosomes XY to study their own morphology.
