With zeal for recovering the land and regularizing the housing problem; in some illegal cases, families have been taken off their homes and relocated in temporary and precarious buildings in the Valley of Andorra neighborhood Such houses were supposed to be used as emergency shelters until a better alternative relocation turned up, but they have become permanent for the inhabitants. Currently, some people have had the opportunity of making improvement in the buildings, but only those families with enough economical resources. On the other hand, there are a few houses that are in the same initial situation, which costs an approximate of 9.640 to heat a 33.6m2 building during winter season. The main objective is to come up with the possibility of improving thermal resistance, basic habitability conditions and reduce energy demand of social housing in the Valley of Andorra. Considering precarious socio-economic conditions, the use of low cost and organic origin thermal insulation (clay and wood shavings) turns to be attainable in economical and technical aspects could be a promising possibility.
