Evaluación del comportamiento de la unión adhesiva en juntas a doble banda de PRFC-acero

Abstract

Los polímeros reforzados con fibra de carbono (PRFC) se están utilizando cada vez más en los últimos años en aplicaciones de ingeniería civil. El atractivo de este material innovador se debe a su alta resistencia mecánica, peso ligero y buena resistencia a la corrosión. El uso de laminados de PRFC unidos mediante adhesivo es una técnica muy prometedora para el refuerzo de las estructuras de acero que se hayan deteriorado debido a la corrosión, el envejecimiento o el incremento de cargas. Uno de los elementos más críticos de esta estrategia de refuerzo es la capa de adhesivo aplicada entre el PRFC y el acero, así como sus interfaces con los materiales a unir (PRFC y acero). Para estudiar el comportamiento de la unión entre los laminados de PRFC y las placas de acero en este tipo de estructuras reforzadas, se ha realizado una serie de ensayos en juntas a doble banda bajo carga de tracción, evaluando los efectos de diferentes tratamientos superficiales del acero y diferentes longitudes de unión en la resistencia de la junta y el modo de rotura. A partir de los resultados experimentales, se han ajustado ciertos parámetros de un modelo analítico utilizado para predecir la resistencia de uniones a doble banda. Asimismo, se han realizado modelos numéricos con elementos finitos calibrados a partir de los resultados de dichos ensayos. La combinación de la evaluación experimental, analítica y numérica del comportamiento de la unión en juntas a doble banda de PRFCacero puede resultar una buena herramienta para el diseño de refuerzos de estructuras de acero mediante PRFC.
