The microstructure of some Dystrandepts from Tenerife (Canary Islands) was studied to omprove the knowledge on their genesis. The Aguamansa I, II and III profiles were selected. Micromorphological examination showed loose, isotic fabric (X 63) ; coarse/fine) related distribution of anaulie type ; abundance of rock fragments (mainly lapilli) and very stable rounded microaggregates originated from the wearthering rock. Humus is a moder for the three profiles but humification is more intense in aguamansa II. Parent material is in most cases fresh lapilli, palagonite or very altered lapilli, Aguamansa I and II show much less colluvial material.
