Abstract

[EN] The Fe, Mn, Zn and Cu levels are analysed in the third banana leave (lamina and midrib) at flowering time and also the Fe contents at the stagc of flower differentiation in plantations with high productivity in the Island of Tenerife. Fe, Mn and Zn concentrations show a negative correlation with the soil pH and with exchangeable Na and Mg contents. At same pH values increasing concentrations of Mg in the soil has a negatif effect on the absorption of Zn by the plant.
