Abstract

La melancolía es una emoción de moda desde el Renacimiento hasta hoy, también en la Ilustración la razón se vio acompañada de fuertes sentimientos que anunciaban el Romanticismo. Personaje destacado en este terreno es Pedro Gatell, cirujano naval e infatigable escritor. En sus novelas y textos morales muestra las principales novedades que surgen en la vivencia melancólica y en su comprensión.
