The General “Africanist” José de Monasterio Ituarte (1882-1952), leader of the Spanish Cavalry in that time, is an unknown historical figure. The Spanish Cavalry in 1900-1939 is generally demanding new researches. This paper is studying a General Monasterio’s publication, entitled The Moment of the Cavalry, which appeared in 1930. The author is also giving us an overview of this Corps and the mobile forces of the Army in a modern war.
