Ovidio en Rumanía

Authors: Jaime Moya, Joan María;

Ovidio en Rumanía

Abstract

[EN] This paper aims to provide an overview of the persistence of the figure of Ovid in Romanian culture and, especially, in its literature. Using translations of severa) Romanian literary fragments, we will demonstrate this survival from three perspectives: personal names and place names; folklore (legends and colinde 'carols'), in which Ovid appears mythologized and even sanctified; poetry and drama of the XVIII-XIX centuries along with contemporary poetry and fiction.
