Abstract

[EN] Waste tyres are an environmental problem without any solution that guarantees their full recovery. The mechanical recovery of the rubber and the metal part is possible thanks to the different grinding technologies available. Although the metallic component is easily reusable, there is no global solution, but energy generation, for the recovered rubber. Pyrolysis technology is an option that can absorb this rubber transforming it into new products such as pyrolytic carbon black and liquid fuels. This article focuses on the recovery and subsequent reuse of pyrolytic carbon black obtained in an industrial pyrolysis plant in the production of new rubber materials. It is demonstrated that the pyrolytic carbon black has a low volatile content and can be used again in the production of new rubbers. The tests carried out show that the properties of the rubbers produced are at least comparable to those of materials produced with commercial carbon black.
