Abstract

[EN] Artist’s signature deals with the problematic notions of authorship, surplus value, authenticity, individual genius, masterpiece, technical virtuosity... all of them closely linked to the public image of Salvador Dalí. His fascination with the proper name and the unfolding of an identity in permanent change come together in the autobiographical project "The Secret Life" (1942), but they appear as well through the evolution of the numerous versions of his autograph: from the onanistic narcissism of ‘Salvador Dalí',which serves at first as a personal vindication against paternal authority, to the androgynous integration of ‘Gala-Dalí’, which turns the so-called muse into a co-author in order to generate a third entity, superior to the two separately and a synthesis of both.
