Abstract

[ES] Este artículo examina los primeros pasos de la enseñanza y la investigación arqueológica en la Universidad de Santiago de Compostela. Se reconstruye la historia del Seminario impartido en 1922 por Hugo Obermaier, que era en ese momento uno de los principales arqueólogos en España, y se considera el papel desempeñado por dos de los primero catedráticos que formaron parte de la sección de Historia tras su creación: Ciriaco Pérez Bustamante y Luis Pericot. Finalmente, se discuten las consecuencias de esta etapa (1922-1927) en el desarrollo posterior de la arqueología gallega.

[EN] This article examines the first steps in the tenching of and research in archaeology at the University of Santiago de Compostela (Spain). It reconstructs the history of the Seminal given in 1922 by Hugo Obermaier, who was then one of the leading archaeologists in Spain, and considers the roles played by two of the first professors who joined the History section of the University after its creation: Ciriaco Pérez Bustamante and Luis Pericot. Finally, the effects of this period (1922-1927) on the subsequent development of archaeolgy in Galicia are discussed.
